This day is observed all over the world to help raise awareness about the importance of literacy and education in our communities. This year’s theme is: “Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide.”

Our partnership with University of Utah Reading clinic (https://uurc.utah.edu) and the Ministry of Basic Education has enabled SSI to train a total of 640 teachers and reach 21,000 students in primary school with English literacy.

As we commemorate World Literacy Day, we would like to shine the spotlight on one of our very own 2018 LeadershipProgramme alumnus, Obakeng Theophilus Mantswe.

Obakeng recently published his first book titled: “Till Earth Do the World Apart,” which is focused on how human behaviour is affecting our world today. A job well done to OB for exemplifying a true leader in the field of literacy!
