PINAGARE

Pinagare empowers parents to guide teens, strengthen family bonds, and reduce domestic violence.

Our Pinagare parenting program is designed for parents and caregivers and their children aged 10–17. The program equips caregivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take an active and informed role in the lives of adolescents, including engaging in open discussions on sexual and reproductive health and other critical issues affecting young people.

Through Pinagare, parents and caregivers strengthen their communication skills and build more trusting relationships with their children. The program also raises awareness of the social and health risks adolescents may face and provides practical strategies to help caregivers effectively guide and support their children in making safe and informed decisions.

Program Impact:

Through the Pinagare Parenting Program, improved parenting skills and stronger caregiver–child communication are contributing to a reduction in domestic violence and GBV cases within participating communities.

Strengthening Families

Through Pinagare, parents build trust with their children, improve communication, and gain tools to guide them safely through adolescent risks.

The Pinagare program has positively transformed the lives of many families by equipping parents and caregivers with the skills and confidence to better support their children. Pinagare has had such a positive impact on my life. Since I joined the program, everything has changed. I was able to open a business, which has become a source of income for me and my children. This business allows me to provide for my children’s needs, such as food, clothing, and toiletries. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m grateful for the opportunities Pinagare has given me and my children.

Before my daughter Gracious joined the Pinagare program, I was insecure about her disability and often kept her from playing or joining activities. Since participating in the program, I now encourage her to engage with others. She has become more confident, open, and comfortable expressing herself with me, her teachers, and her classmates. I am truly grateful for the positive change Pinagare has brought into our lives.

My name is Tsholofelo Seabe. Before joining the Pinagare program, I struggled with heavy alcohol use, which affected my relationship with my son and those around me. Through Pinagare, I realized the impact of my actions and learned to take control of my habits. Today, I drink only occasionally and have started a garden that provides food for my family and extra income from selling produce. I'm grateful for what it did for me.
